“It may be a terrifying thought, but we have to trust God more than we trust ourselves. We are here on this earth for His glory. God has blessed you so that you will use whatever He has given you for His glory, not yours. Ultimately, we should expect God’s plan to lead us places that we wouldn’t naturally go.”—Francis Chan, Multiply (via withonefootinafairytale)
“Stop comparing where you’re at with where everyone else is. It doesn’t move you farther ahead, improve your situation, or help you find peace. It just feeds your shame, fuels your feelings of inadequacy, and ultimately, it keeps you stuck. The reality is that there is no one correct path in life. Everyone has their own unique journey. A path that’s right for someone else won’t necessarily be a path that’s right for you. And that’s okay. Your journey isn’t right or wrong, or good or bad. It’s just different. Your life isn’t meant to look like anyone else’s because you aren’t like anyone else. You’re a person all your own with a unique set of goals, obstacles, dreams, and needs. So stop comparing, and start living”—Danielle Koepke (via laurenstaud)
“I ran away from God, refused His calling and tried to give up on Him a million times but I always find myself being dragged towards Him a million and one times more.”—Ray Jean Jakosalem (via ilovegodaboveall)
“People don’t like love, they like that flittery flirty feeling. They don’t love love - love is sacrificial, love is ferocious, it’s not emotive. Our culture doesn’t love love, it loves the idea of love. It wants the emotion without paying anything for it. It’s ridiculous.”—Matt Chandler (via -dejalenae-)
Help me stay calm and positive when I am angry and frustrated. Fill me with Your peace when I feel like others have wronged me. And please give me the ability to forgive and move on.
Thank you for being a caring God who is there for me, even for seemingly small situations.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”—Ephesians 4:29 (via if-god-had-a-tumblr)
The only connection you should have with the sin in your past is the testimony of how God delivered you from it. Your past is not your future. You are not defined by who you once were, but by who you are becoming in Christ.
When God is doing something great in our lives, things will not make sense at first. This is why we should not base our faith on the things we see or feel. We should live by faith and not by sight. It may not happen in the time we want, but we will eventually realize that God has orchestrated everything perfectly. This is when a testimony is born.
